From wafers and substrates to complex components, Valley offers one-stop shopping for precision lapping, polishing, dicing, OD / ID grinding and 5 axis CNC machining services. Special capabilities include ultra-thin (as thin as 10-15um), ultra-flat (1/10 wave), super polishing (1 Angstrom, 10/5 scratch/dig), tight tolerances (+/- .5um), TTV <.5um. We can fabricate intricate shapes and features in your material or ours, ranging from Fused Silica and Quartz, Glass of all types, Ceramics including 96-99.6% Alumina, Aluminum Nitride, Silicon Carbide, Macor, Sapphire, Silicon, Germanium, Metals, and more. Many raw materials, and thousands of finished wafers and substrates are in stock from our extensive inventory. Parts from as small as 0.127mm square up to 48" diameter are handled by Valley Design. We process materials to ultra-thin thicknesses (as thin as 10um), and work with micron level tolerances, difficult surface finish, parallelism and flatness specifications. Valley has over 100 single and double sided lapping and polishing machines from 12" up to 64". Our precision dicing department has one of the largest available capacities, with over 15 programmable DISCO and K&S dicing saws. We operate both 4 and 5 axis Haas CNC machining vertical mills, which can machine complex shapes and features such as slots, pockets, through-holes, chamfers, steps, radii. Valley's highly experienced and skilled process technicians have 100's of years of collective experience. We can work with you from R&D prototypes through to full production. We operate from 30,000 square feet of facilities, and have an excellent reputation for precision, innovation, quality and customer service.
