About Value Chain Lab
The company's mission is to: “Reduce margin erosion and waste through effective collaboration across interconnected Supply Chain Networks”. Value Chain Lab (VCL) has developed a Supply Chain Intelligence and Analytics (SCIA) software platform to help large multinational companies optimise their logistics and supply chain operations. It links to the legacy system silos to provide near real-time visibility of product flows through the network as well as generate actionable insights that support effective decision making. In 2021 VCL completed the acquisition of UK-based warehousing marketplace Stowga to further build out its On-Demand Logistics platform for a global audience. Stowga is the largest On-Demand Warehousing Marketplace servicing the UK and global markets. Its clients include 3PLs (Third Party Logistics), industrial property owners, and partners with vacant space within existing commercial warehouses. The Stowga marketplace connects businesses that need additional flexible warehousing services with suppliers that meet their chosen requirements. The search interface allows customers to identify the most appropriate site, view service offerings as well as price indications for handling and storage, then connect directly with the provider to discuss specifics and agree on a transaction. In comparison with SCIA, Stowga service offering targets SME market. With recently kicked off project FLOX (https://valuechainlab.com/) we aim to revolutionise the way companies select and use their logistics partners, by dynamically consolidating inefficient journeys, thus fundamentally changing the way the shippers and carriers operate. The practical outcome from freight collaboration is reduction of miles travelled and migration onto other transport modes to deliver wider economic impact via transportation cost reduction, environmental impact via reduction of CO2, NOx and other pollutants, as well as social impact via reduced congestion and road network maintenance.
