About VAMOS youth

VAMOS youth believes in the power of education to reduce drowning statistics. We have been providing vital swimming and lifesaving instruction in the communities of Tamarindo and surrounding areas since 2016. Our mission is to educate the youth of our beach community to be advocates and leaders for ocean safety. We offer programs for all ages starting at 2 years old and go up to adulthood. VAMOS youth offers group and private classes year-round to locals and visitors. Due to the absence of public pools in the area, our Aquatic Programs are offered in the ocean and private pools (located at private schools and properties, hotels, and restaurants). We truly believe that the only way to reduce the drowning statistics is through education. Having more lifeguards on the beach won’t solve the problem. The most efficient solution to reduce the drowning rate is to first teach our children to swim and then educate them about ocean safety through Junior Lifeguard programs. Affiliate member with The Royal Life Saving Society Canada, Ontario Branch.
