About Vana Global

Vana is the world’s first smallholder farmer agri-ecosystem with an impact-oriented approach towards business. Millions of small and marginal farmers across developing nations in Asia and Africa still use unsustainable and traditional methods to undertake agricultural activities. Agriculture is the basis of human sustenance and is often referred to as the noblest deed, however, the farming communities suffer from losses due to factors that are beyond their control. The small-scale farmers in emerging economies encounter various challenges in the form of burgeoning costs and indebtedness, increasing layers of middlemen, falling agricultural commodity prices, and diminishing margins which eventually leads to a sharp decline in the net farm income. Hence, to end their struggles, Vana Global was established in 2016. Vana uses a synergy of global financing, technology, and a network of curated agriculture ecosystem players, to enhance productivity, minimize risks, and ensure rightful margins for the farmer. Vana’s goal is to change the way the world looks at agriculture and more importantly to restore the respect due for the farmer through its integrated platform, thus enabling them to be agripreneurs. In addition to Vana’s farmer-centric ideologies, it also recognizes the importance of planet Earth. Hence, to achieve all the goals, Vana encourages planet conscious agriculture by using bio inputs (fertilizers, pesticides, etc.), environment-friendly farming practices (integrated, neo-dynamic & permaculture), and advanced technologies (drip, soil and crop sensors, drones, etc.) to increase the productivity of land and enriching it in the process.
