About Vana Trust

VANA TRUST is a UK based CHARITY which aims to alleviate poverty and distress, as well as to promote the advancement of education and the preservation of good health of children and young people in Africa and the UK. Founded in June 2004 by author, social entrepreneur and philanthropist (amongst other things), NYASHA GWATIDZO, this ORGANIZATION exists in order to promote empowerment through education, thus enriching the lives of vulnerable children and young adults. Through encouragement, support and commitment to young people for over a decade, we inspire them and help them overcome their difficulties, as well as enable them to give back to their own communities. VANA TRUST is, therefore a Two-Fold CHARITY which raises funds for: 1. Schoolchildren in Zimbabwe (with prospects to expand to other regions of Subsaharan Africa) who are orphaned or whose parents, affected by HIV/AIDS, are not able to pay for their education. 2. VANA TRUST ORGANIC FARM. A 8 acre farm located on the border of Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, which was created with the sole purpose to provide a safe, therapeutic educational setting for young adults affected by emotional and learning difficulties.
