About Vancouver Giants Hockey Club
Providing "Hockey with Heart" & the best sports entertainment value in the city since 2001, the Vancouver Giants are proud members of the Western Hockey League and call the Langley Events Centre home. Since our inception, the Giants have captured: * 5 BC Division Titles ('06, '07, '08, '09, '10) * 2 Western Conference Titles ('06, '07) * 1 Ed Chynoweth Cup (WHL Champions, '06) * 1 Memorial Cup (CHL Champions, '07) We have helped over 40 alumni achieve their dream of playing professional hockey - most notably Milan Lucic (EDM), Brendan Gallagher (MTL), Evander Kane (BUF) & Cody Franson (CHI). We have also helped many more reach their academic goals at universities across Canada through the WHL Scholarship Program. Our organization is responsible for bringing a number of major events to Vancouver, including the 2005 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game, the 2006 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship, the 2007 MasterCard Memorial Cup, and the 2012 Subway Canada/Russia Super Series. We look forward to hosting the 2019 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship. We provide affordable, family-friendly sports entertainment, and take great pride in the many grass-roots initiatives we have developed over the years, including our extensive relationship with minor hockey and local elementary schools. Our ownership group includes Ron Toigo, Sultan Thiara, Lewis Bublé, Michael Bublé & Bruce Allen.
