About Veg Power
Veg Power, is a not-for-profit, that is improving the UK’s dietary health and dedicated to making healthy, more sustainable eating easier. We are a unique alliance, bringing together a diverse network of multidisciplinary experts and partners that have supported the development of our work and our success. Our knowledge, experience and collaborations have enabled us to become one of the UK’s leading organisations focusing on improving children’s dietary health. Through our dedication and drive, we have developed well proven methodologies to support parents and carers to increase their family’s veg intake. One of these is our annual, multi award-winning Eat Them to Defeat Them campaign which has reached over half of UK families through our TV advertising each year and over 1.8 million different children participating in our highly effective schools’ programme. We’ve had £20m of media investment across ITV, Sky and Channel 4 in support of Eat Them to Defeat Them. Other ongoing campaigns include Simply Veg which provides support to parents and carers, recognising that all families and children are different. It is the first multi-disciplinary initiative to target this major public health issue and aims to provide guidance that is relevant to all families, no matter what their veg eating struggles might be e.g. taste, sensory preferences, cost, reluctance to try something new. For more details visit: https://simplyveg.org.uk We’ve also reached 20,000 kids through Growing to Love, a fun and educational adventure that involves children growing their own tomato plant from seed and ending up with delicious tomatoes at the end of their journey. Growing to Love supports our work to increase the UK’s vegetable consumption by engaging children and supporting their learning and acceptance of vegetables through their involvement in a practical activity that gets their hands dirty.
