About Vegas for Athletes
Vegas for Athletes (VFA) is a Nevada-based nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness about sudden cardiac arrest (SCA)—the #1 medical cause of death in young athletes. We exist to educate the public, advocate heart screenings, and support organizations that screen young athletes before it’s too late. Our mission is simple but urgent: Bringing awareness the importance of heart screening for young athletes. In 2024, we were a part of Vegas Has a Heart campaign, an initiative that captured attention across Nevada and brought the issue of heart health to the forefront. That momentum inspired us to go bigger—with the creation of the VFA Summer Games in 2026: the first-ever Olympic-style youth sporting event in Las Vegas that combines elite competition with life-saving health education. The VFA Summer Games bring together student-athletes from across the city for a once-in-a-lifetime experience: - 13 sports - Free heart screenings - Opening ceremony & torch lighting - Scholarship prizes - NIL exposure opportunities - Gold medal moments It’s more than a tournament—it’s a movement. By making health a central theme of sport, we’re setting a new standard for youth athletics. Our work has already caught the attention of key stakeholders: Clark County School District (CCSD) engaged with our awareness campaign Nevada State Legislators have expressed interest in supporting mandatory heart screenings United Healthcare, Meesha Moulton Law, Clear Channel, Chase and the Las Vegas Aces have joined us as our supporters.
