About Vegetarian Resource Center

The Vegetarian Resource Center is a vegetarian research THINKTANK founded in 1993 by Maynard S. Clark. The Vegetarian Resource Center identifies gaps in the resources needed for a historic shift away from current means of feeding the human species, towards a human species living on Earth without exploiting animals for food or for other purposes. Noting what is CURRENTLY missing from available (or even foreseeable) resources, the Vegetarian Resource Center helps incubate innovative vegetarian resource-building and vegetarian culture-building projects. The goals of these rojects include: * Consulting with vegetarian groups about their individual and community futures * Transform vegetarian life and outreach and * Enhance the prospect that today's potential vegetarians will become vegetarian, or even vegan * Resolve gaps or deficiencies or limits to the abolitionist vision of a human species living successfully, happily, healthfully, wisely without exploiting or harming animal life. The slogan 'MAKING CONNECTIONS for PLANT-BASED (vegan) DIETS' synopsizes its mission. While we are NOT the Vegetable Resource Center, we do 'aim to be optimally and relevantly informed' of what we need to know and understand. Here at the VEGETARIAN RESOURCE CENTER, we believe that the TOTAL amount of ANY animal products that humans SHOULD be consuming is TOTALLY ZERO (nada, goose egg, null set, nothing at all). Some call that 'vegan' thinking, but some others (and some of us, also) don't like how the term 'vegan' has been exploited and hijacked for purposes OTHER than plant-exclusive veganism.
