About VEPS

VEPS is a professional monitoring & safe exchange service. Services are provided in a safe & secure manner, at a pre-approved/public location, to ensure the safety of all parties involved, adults & children alike. VEPS is led by Hans Oberkirsch, a licensed armed security officer. A former deputy sheriff & retired military, Hans holds degrees in criminal justice & computer electronics. As a deputy Hans saw a need to provide protective visitation & exchange services that benefit both child & parent. WHY SUPERVISED VISITATION & SAFE EXCHANGE Public policy of the State of TN is to protect the best interests of children whose parents have a custody/visitation matter within family & juvenile courts. Based on issues of protection and safety, a judge may decide for a child to have parent contact, a neutral 3rd person must be present during visitation. This is "supervised visitation". Safe exchanges are for parents not required to have supervision but need to make the exchange without interacting with each other. Safe Exchange candidates are: • Parents with a history of conflict, at the time of exchange of their children; • Parents who have a no contact order in effect; • Parents who each allege that the other is not appearing for exchange; • Families where a 3rd party relative or friend has been ordered to supervise parenting time. VEPS provides audio & video recorded monitoring services; allowing us to concentrate on the visit, exchange, or phone call (audio only).
