About Vermont's Free & Referral Clinics
Vermont’s Free & Referral Clinics (VFRC) is a 501(c)(3) association of nine clinics that provide free healthcare and health services to Vermonters in need. VFRC’s purpose is to increase access to healthcare for uninsured, underinsured, low-income, and underserved people throughout Vermont. With care provided primarily by volunteer medical, dental, and mental health professionals, our clinics have played a vital role in healthcare delivery and public health efforts in Vermont since 1995. In 2022, our clinics proudly served over 11,500 Vermonters in 224 towns by providing direct medical care as well as a range of support services in navigating health insurance, care coordination, access to free or low-cost prescriptions, transportation and more. VFRC participates in Vermont’s initiatives to reduce tobacco use and increase screening and treatment for cervical and breast cancer.
