Vesta Technology was founded in 1984 as Vesta Technology, Inc. In 2009, the company was purchased by Ms. Carol Colburn, now the company’s CEO. Ms. Colburn has a wide variety of business and academic experience and a “go-getter” attitude. The company carries inventory of embedded controllers “invisible computers” and peripherals. In addition, Vesta Tech, as it is commonly referred to, offers out-sourced R&D services to companies, innovators and makers. Vesta Tech’s highly skilled and experienced team can often be found working on a custom design for a new application. Carrying inventory is important to the Vesta Tech team to keep satisfied and long term customers and acquire new customers. The lead times for boards coming out of China have gone beyond what is acceptable to most companies working on new products or upgrading older ones. When the general public sees a thermostat, an exercise machine, or a piece of industrial machinery, they are likely seeing the result of an invisible embedded computer. One is seeing what the computer does but not the computer itself. One might think of a little robot inside telling the product components what to do. Vesta Tech is actively involved in the business community, supporting Colorado’s innovators. The company hosts regular meetings of the 32 year old Rocky Mountain Inventors Association, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, www.RMInventor.org. The company extends their expertise to inventors considering embedding computers in new products.
