Veterinary Specialist Consultations was founded by Dr Yaiza Forcada and Professor Dr Stijn Niessen, two Board Certified Veterinary Specialists (internal medicine), with extensive experience in veterinary clinical practice, academia, private practice, education, project and people management and research. VSC aims to provide ethically sound, evidence-based, high quality, innovative help in all matters relating to animal health and veterinary, including education, mentorship, research and clinical support. Among many other things, we have expertise in telemedicine and one of our first achievements has been helping the global Teleradiology company VetCT transform into a global Telemedicine company, providing not just radiology, but instead 360 degree telemedicine services. Our latest collaboration involves helping the Veterinary Information Network (a community of >90,000 veterinarians; www.vin.com) create a Veterinary Mentorship Academy (www.vin.com/vma), as well as grow its membership globally, with a focus on Europe. In addition we helped develop a new oral drug for diabetes in pets after years of having only insulin injections as a treatment option. Trial design and execution are second nature to us. Veterinary Specialist Consultations also provides unique and innovative Continuous Professional Development (CE) services driven by passion to teach, a strong believe in application of logic and growth mindset. We provide these services for Universities, non-profit societies, other CE providers as well as many other interested parties. In addition VSC delivers advice on a consultancy basis to a range of veterinary, medical, educational, one health, pharmaceutical and other (animal) health institutions, individuals and companies. We take pride in trying to do the right thing for the right reasons. We are "mental health awareness" trained. We always strive to remain independent, friendly, ethical and kind.
