Via Volunteers is a South African organization dedicated to promoting ethical volunteering practices and supporting sustainable community and conservation projects. With more than 17 years of experience organizing placements for volunteers from over 60 countries, we pride ourselves on our ability to match volunteers with projects that align with their skills and interests. Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that ethical volunteering requires a realistic understanding of what can be achieved during a placement, as well as an honest appraisal of one's motivations for volunteering. By keeping these factors in mind, volunteers are able to make the most of their experience and make a meaningful impact where it matters. To support our volunteers, we offer excellent pre-arrival support, including information on all aspects of the trip, from visas and vaccinations to cultural expectations and project details. Every project includes airport transfers, accommodation, orientation, in-country support, and a certificate of appreciation as standard, with some projects also including meals, a name badge, and transport where needed. During your stay, our team will be available to assist with organizing activities, providing advice, and ensuring your safety and wellbeing throughout your placement. As parents ourselves, we prioritize the care and support of our volunteers, treating them with the same level of care we would want for our own children if they were overseas.
