MULTILINGUAL SUPPORT FOR VICTIMS ABROAD It is only when a crime occurs (and sadly it happens more often than you would imagine) that tourists and visitors to other countries discover how, in addition to being affected by the crime itself, their situation as a victim can be compounded by language difficulties, and/or cultural, administrative and legal differences with their home country. Communications with the authorities, police, medical staff and lawyers sometimes become a day-to-day necessity when serious issues arise. This can be problematic if you don’t speak the local language or understand the local systems. Not only do things get lost in translation, victims and their families often end up having lengthy official documents translated that are not always necessary. Alternatively, they may try to improvise by using translation apps or other ad-hoc methods that may lead to vital information being missed or incorrect instructions or observations being given. Victims and families deserve the best support available and we aim to try and bridge that gap and HELP YOU in your time of need.
