Viking Toys manufactures and sells durable children's products in timeless design for open and exploration play in schools and homes worldwide. Viking Toys is family-run company and that characterizes us in our everyday life. Our family grows with our production staff, our distrubutors and our customers. That is, all of us who have faith in play is in our DNA. Founded in Torsås in 1974 by Gösta Kjellme, Viking toys is the result of Gösta's conviction that quality is the cornerstone and that play is the most important thing for children's development. It all started in 1944 when Gösta was born in Torsås, a small village on the coast in southern Småland. He grew up in a car workshop and thereby acquired an interest in cars. In addition, a curiosity about the world and a great love for family. When he was in his 20s working at a toy company in Malmö, he learned a lot and there his interest in toys developed. He was fascinated by sales and even more by manufacturing. In 1974, he was ready to take his interest and passion to a new level and chose to start Viking Toys. The business side was to manufacture the best imaginable toys in soft and durable plastic. The most special thing was that the toys were bendable and flexible right from the start. The best way to explain the quality was by jumping and stomping on the toys. Sales took off! Caroline, Josephine and Maggie are the second generation of the family who today together with Gösta run Viking Toys together. They are ready to lead Viking Toys into the future together. The focus remains on children and families and how Viking toys can enrich children's lives through play.
