About Village Montessori School
Established in 1995, Village Montessori School (VMS) is a non-sectarian, independent school for children from 18 months through 6th grade. Our school is accredited by SACS and AMI, the Association Montessori Internationale. We serve families from North Fulton, East Cobb and Cherokee counties. Dedicated to maintaining the principles established by Dr. Maria Montessori, VMS is committed to providing a warm and nurturing environment that is carefully prepared to meet the needs of each individual child. Our goal is to support the child’s natural development in spirit, mind and body and foster a lifelong curiosity and love of learning. We are all about facilitating enriching and meaningful experiences that enable a child to grow in skill, independence and confidence! Our teachers are gifted observers and facilitators with long tenures at VMS. All the lead teachers have completed master’s level work across all academic disciplines in addition to specialized training and certifications. The classroom assistants, many of whom became committed to the Montessori philosophy as a VMS parent, also bring diverse backgrounds to the school. Our vibrant community actively participates in numerous service projects, many of which are student initiated and led. The dynamic Parent Association organizes many fun activities as well as education seminars and funds the Scholarship Program.
