UAB "Vilniaus tranzitas" (JSC "Vilnius transitas") was established in 1994 at the territory of former warehouses and transport depot. Following the order of Customs department in 1995, Customs Cargo Post was opened in the UAB Vilniaus tranzitas premises, and an Import-export terminal was opened in 1996 which was one of the first in Lithuania. Since 1999 UAB "Vilniaus tranzitas" belongs to the group of logistics companies "AD REM Group". UAB "Vilniaus tranzitas" has convenient strategic location – we are situated close to Vilnius airport, the Vilnius-Minsk-Moscow highway, the distance till the Eastern border of Lithuania (and EU) is only 32 km; furthermore a railway siding is connected to our territory. Many years of experience has let us to develop a modern warehousing structure and a wide range of services. Starting from 2000 m and 12 employees at our inauguration, today we have 33000 m of indoor warehousing and over 20000 m of open grounds spread in 7 ha and more than 190 employees. About 6.37 mln. Eur have been invested during the last 5 years for the modernization of warehouse equipment and development of our warehousing facilities. Today our facilities comprise: import-export terminal, customs bonded warehouses, distribution warehouses, open grounds, warehouses with special temperature conditions, special warehouse for dangerous goods (lubricants, chemical substances), pin-type scales and weighbridges, vehicle and railway ramps. New and modern handling equipment enables us to handle efficiently oversized and heavy loads. Experienced customs brokers ensures that customs procedures are processed speedily. All the logistic services are coordinated Logistics and Transit Center team. To ensure our responsibility to our customers and carriers all handling and warehousing activities are insured by liability insurance, and all the goods stored are insured with additional cargo insurance.
