About Vinci Eco Drive

The VED association (Vinci Eco Drive) is a student association of automobile construction. It was founded nine years ago within the Pôle Universitaire Léonard de Vinci, in La Défense. It gathers more than 80 students from 3 different schools: ESILV (engineers), EMLV (managers) and IIM (digital). The objective of this association is to imagine, design and build electric cars through two innovative and ambitious projects. => 1st project: the Efficiency Prototype: a 100% electric vehicle whose objective is to consume as little energy as possible. We have been building a prototype every year since 2013. Our record of distance covered is 3731km for an electric consumption equivalent to 1liter of SP95 gasoline. Our current prototype is called NOVA. => 2nd project: the Formula Student: a real electric racing car, its objective is to be efficient, agile and fast on circuit. We have been working on this car for 3 years to participate in competitions from the summer of 2024. This association wants to be a pole of competences and ambitions allowing the students to carry out a project from A to Z. The association has an unshakeable will to realize cars by its own means. If some parts impossible to machine are ordered, the rest is entirely manufactured by the association in its workshops. The Pôle Universitaire Léonard de Vinci allows to mix in an intrinsic way the courses and the projects, each one benefiting to the other. Outside the current health context, VED participates in international races such as the Shell Eco-Marathon (SEM), the Albi Eco Race and the EcoGreen Challenge. These high-profile inter-university car races bring together more than 3,500 students and 40,000 spectators from all over Europe.
