About Virtuous Vodka
A VODKA MADE TO TASTE In 2013, Swedish chef Claes Stenmark introduced Virtuous, an organic, unfiltered, handcrafted vodka. His quest was to create a spirit that would have the same high quality and exceptional taste as the products he used in his kitchen. He wanted a vodka that reflected what Nordic food is all about - unfiltered, real taste. Claes tested various ingredients until he found what he was looking for in the unique character of rye. A grain that provides wonderful bready, peppery and sweet notes. He experimented with different methods and decided to use continuous distillation to make the rye distilled spirits. When making spirits like this, you cut away some of the head and some of the tail and use the heart for the final product. Virtuous Vodka uses only the very core of the heart. We call this the-heart-of-the-heart. Filtration wasn’t needed, the taste was amazing and he didn't want to change a thing. Going organic was a natural choice for Claes, who grew up close to nature, learning early on to appreciate all it had to offer. As a child, his passion for authentic taste and flavor took root as he gathered wild berries and herbs with his grandfather to flavor spirits in the Northern tradition. In a product category that historically has tried to get rid of as much taste as possible, Virtuous goes in the opposite direction. Virtuous Vodka is allowed to, and is supposed to, have an authentic taste of the raw ingredient. We want to keep the flavor of the wonderful bready, peppery and sweet notes of the organic rye it's made of. The result is a handcrafted small batch vodka full of character, yet super smooth. How to best enjoy Virtuous Vodka Rye is of course a matter of personal taste, but we recommend that you try it off the rocks at least once. By savoring at room temperature, you will experience the full palate and all the flavor nuances. We hope you’ll understand why we are so proud of our vodka.
