About Vis East International Commercial Arbitration Moot
The Vis East Moot is an educational experience for law students from around the world, in the form of a competition. With Vis East, mooting came to Asia wit 14 teams from 4 continents. Teams of at least two students find the Problem on the first Friday of October, and prepare a Claimant Memorandum in December. They then must respond to the Memorandum of another team, with their Respondent Memorandum, in January. The Oral Rounds take place in late March/ early April each year. In 2009, 64 teams and almost 700 people participated. In 2019, 138 teams and nearly 1500 people. In 2014 we shared Vis skills in the #CapacityBuildingProgramme in Phnom Penh and Yangon. In 2020 Vis East became the first major arbitration moot to be conducted completely on-line using #MicrosoftTeams - #VirtualVisEast (VVE).
