About Vision Ability

Vision Ability is a Community Interest Company, limited by guarantee, founded and run by Visually Impaired people, for Visually Impaired people. We are two Non-Sighted brothers with Learning Difficulties, Owais and Shahab Niaz and our friend Mohammed Luqmaan Shafique, who is severely Visually Impaired. We are all British - Asian and we have lived experience of the challenges our peers are facing, especially the ones living in East London. With the help of our family, as well as the community, we have managed to completely overcome our Disabilities and are now fully abled and functional members of our society. Our mission is to pass forward the help and support we have received through our journey of overcoming our barriers. Each person has their own needs and skill sets. We are here to help with everything. Our services include: Visiting schools to: spread awareness about living with and overcoming disabilities, combat bullying, and help prevent avoidable blindness by promoting regular eye testing Information and Support for filling out application forms for Support and Benefits Personal Independence Payments (PIP) Employment Support Allowance (ESA) Universal Credit Blue badge Freedom Pass Dial a Ride Taxi card Access to Work Mobility Door to Door (for Redbridge residents) Council Tax reduction IT support and training Travel Confidence Vi UX consulting Workshops Scholarships Career Advice
