The Vitória Sport Clube was founded on September 22 of 1922. Among of all the joys that the fans feel over these past decades, none compares to the highest point of the 100-year life of Vitória Sport Clube. The day May 26, 2013 will be marked forever as the most brilliant day in the history of the club by winning the well-known Portuguese Cup. It was truly an unforgettable day. With great Football achievements such as 1 Portuguese Cup (2012/13), 1 Super Cup (1987/88), 6 times at the final of the Portuguese Cup (1941/42; 1962/63; 1975/76; 1987/88; 2010/11; 2012/13); 18 participations in UEFA Europa League; 1 presence in UEFA Winners Cup; 1 presence in the Champions League (3rd qualifying round), 3 times 3rd place in the 1st National League. The D. Afonso Henriques Stadium is the scene of great football matches, is the home of the best fans in the world and one of the monuments in the tour itinerary of the city of Guimarães. Built in 1965, then as Guimarães Municipal Stadium, it received, decades later, the name of the founding King of nationality to whom it pays heartfelt homage. In order to host the EURO 2004 games, it has undergone extensive refurbishment works that have made it a stage of excellence for football matches. With a capacity of 30,000 people, it assumes, every sports season, a prominent place in the table of assists in the League, being one of the most mediated Portuguese stadiums.
