About Vive NW

Vive | NW was founded by our Executive Director, Jorge Guzman, to address the Pacific Northwest’s glaring need for more diversity in outdoor recreation and green spaces. We tackle this mission through our flagship VIVE ADVENTURAS program, which increases outdoor recreation and greenspaces diversity by providing affordable and accessible outdoor activities, community events, and educational outreach. We continually innovate our approach to addressing the nature gap by seeking regular community feedback and through various public and private partnerships. Our projects strive to empower community members to live healthier lives while creating a sense of ownership and stewardship toward the environment. Vive NW also focuses on various other realms of community service for PNW’s Latino/x and BIPOC communities, including workforce development, access to transportation, and health. We have done many projects to increase professional opportunities for the Latino/x community through our HISPANICPROS program. We have also worked diligently to provide various health services through our VIVE SALUDABLE program, including working with the Oregon Health Authority to deliver accurate Covid-19 vaccination information and other interpreting services in over 25 languages. All three of these programs are supported by our cutting-edge creative team that delivers informative and engaging materials. Our overarching programs position us to tackle the most pressing issues facing members of the Latino/x and BIPOC communities. Vive NW is uniquely positioned to address issues related to environmental access, health, and workforce facing members of the Latino/x community. We continue learning from and growing with Latino/x and BIPOC communities in the PNW. The diversity of our communities is a strength, and our mission is to bring that strength to the forefront of all we do.
