About Vivid Projects

Vivid Projects is a diverse led organisation and intersectional creative community. We work to extend and celebrate the opportunities created through digital culture. Since launching a project space in 2013, Vivid Projects has built a reputation for producing engaging, experimental creative work, delivering hundreds of events, exhibitions and new works. We create access to, and facilitate new interdisciplinary creative skills in, the use and application of digital technologies within a range of cultural practices open to innovation: digital, moving image, live arts and creative media. Founded in 2012 by Yasmeen Baig-Clifford, we are currently working with artists and partners to re-imagine our resources as the Vivid Lab; a catalyst for practice and a resource base for artists, focusing our support on practice-research. We actively seek out under-represented artists, contemporary practices and cultures, and invest in the risk taking, early stages of development towards ambitious work. We develop diverse talent, establishing ethical partnerships and growing the creative sector talent pool by creating genuine career progression for freelancers and artists who work through our programmes. We are the stewards of an important regional media archive of works produced by our predecessor organisations, and encourage contemporary engagement with cultural and sub-cultural histories. Our work is made public through events and exhibitions and publishing on and off-site and online, created in collaboration with artists, producers and researchers. We provide ongoing support to a community of artists, who are selected through open call and can work with us long term as they build their practice.
