About vivienne jones design

Originally from Wales,Great Britain, Vivienne is a graduate of the Birmingham School of Jewellery and Silversmithing in England. She has maintained a studio as a professional contemporary jeweler in Toronto, Canada since 1980. Her studio practice consists of original works for exhibition and sale through galleries as well as individual commissions. Vivienne considers her formative years growing up in Wales as an essential aspect of the development of her approach to jewelery making; striving to reflect subtle aspects of texture, natural form, balance and the sculptural in her work. Her current work continues her individual approach to working in traditional materials, meanwhile expanding her interests in non traditional materials such as resin, recycled materials and also into the non wearable sculptural form. Vivienne maintains a strong interest in her community and through out her career has been active in art and craft organizations. In 2003 Vivienne was elected to the Royal Canadian Academy of the Arts.
