Satellite Life Extension Services ViviSat provides in-orbit satellite life extension and protection services. ViviSat solutions will enable satellite operators to significantly extend satellite mission length, activate new markets, drive asset value and protect their franchises. ViviSat fulfills the need to extend the lives of the large base of geostationary satellites with life potential limited by fuel or servicing requirements. U.S. Space and ATK Space Systems created ViviSat to provide satellite operators with the ability to extend satellite mission length with services that are flexible, scalable, capital-efficient and low-risk. ViviSat uses a Mission Extension Vehicle (MEV) that safely connects to an orbiting satellite in order to provide supplemental attitude and propulsive capabilities without disruption to the client satellite’s operation. The MEV utilizes a space-ready docking system and a suite of integrated proximity sensors to securely rendezvous with the host satellite. ViviSat’s breakthrough technology will give satellite operators unprecedented flexibility in asset deployment, providing customers with a game-changing advance in financial and operating flexibility and risk mitigation.
