About Voilavion
COMFORTABLY FLY ON A CATAMARAN AT HIGH SPEED While combining windsurfing techniques and gliding technologies, we noticed that at high speed surfers tend to lean their sails against the wind. This enables sails to operate as an airplane wing and eventually have the board take off. From this observation was born an 18ft Voilavion prototype, a real flying nautical experimental platform. Voilavion 18ft test platform was designed to test all kinds of rigs and foils in order to find the best compromise between speed, navigation comfort and pleasure. It is a catamaran with two hulls and a smaller central one, it supports the mast movements from starboard to port. Inclination of the mast therefore creates an upward force that decreases its weight on the foils and unable an early take off. WEBISTE : www.voilavion.com RESEARCH & DESIGN: An innovative project combining different nautical and aeronautical technologies, they were never used together on a sailboat until then. Passionate Nautical engineers and architects gathered to create a catamaran that transforms navigation as we know it today. TESTS & DEVELOPMENT Proficient skippers serving innovation. A first prototype with very promising results. Adjustments refined to break records. Major professional sailing reviews.
