We are a family-run wholesaler based in Windermere, delivering fresh, ambient and frozen foods within a 70 mile radius. Founded in 1945 by Bill McClure, the company is now in the hands of the third generation of McClures. After more than 80 years we still have the same passion and drive to deliver good quality service to our customers. W McClure Ltd. prides itself on being a large local employer within the National Park. We truly are a family business with family values, and we go the extra mile for our team and work with them through thick and thin. Our 160 staff come predominately from Kendal, Windermere, Ulverston and Barrow with over 60% of employee’s length of service greater than 2 years. The roles filled include a mixture of warehouse, night shift, transport, Cash & Carry and office with ages ranging from 16-65. We currently employ over 160 staff, in a 24/7 operation (resting briefly on Saturday evenings), with a fleet of 35 vehicles delivering quality produce within a 70-mile radius of Windermere. Having a good reliable team enables us to service our full customer base that stretches across all parts of Cumbria, North Yorkshire and Lancashire.
