About Walk It Off Spinal Cord Wellness Centre
WALK IT OFF Spinal Cord Wellness Centre Inc. (WALK IT OFF) is a not-for profit neurological rehabilitation facility located in Newmarket, ON. WALK IT OFF is a specialized Activity-Based Therapy (ABT) centre servicing individuals living with neurological conditions. Our client base includes, but is not limited to, individuals with spinal cord injuries, traumatic/acquired brain injuries, post-stroke, cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis. Our unique ABT program facilitates client-centred rehabilitation focusing on intensive exercise-based rehabilitation techniques and state-of the-art equipment. WALK IT OFF is home to state-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment such as the Madonna ICARE (Intelligently Controlled Assistive Rehabilitative Elliptical), the LiteGait body-weight support system over treadmill, the RT 300 Functional Electrical Stimulation cycle with Sage stimulator and NuStep cross-trainer. In addition, WALK IT OFF has developed an in-house ABT training program unique to our facility and clinicians. Our team is always learning and adding to our program to ensure best practices for our population. We have a fantastic Multi-Disciplinary Team of Physiotherapists, Kinesiologists, Physiotherapy Assistants, and volunteers!
