About Walking Miracles Family Foundation
I founded Walking Miracles Family Foundation because I know firsthand that cancer’s costs go far beyond treatment. At 22 months old, I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and given a year to live. I endured five years of chemo and cranial radiation, only to relapse at age 7 with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I died twice before they could intubate me and completed three more years of treatment. Surviving was just the start. I live with cognitive challenges like short-term memory loss and slower processing, heart failure requiring three pacemakers and an aortic valve replacement, and endocrine issues affecting fertility and growth. These are the unspoken costs no one prepares you for. At Walking Miracles, we help newly diagnosed families and survivors impacted by childhood, adolescent, and young adult cancer in West Virginia and Pittsburgh. We provide Packages of Hope, travel support, patient navigation, port shirts, tablets, books, and more — so families can focus on healing instead of hidden burdens. Our mission is to build a family-style community rooted in faith, compassion, and hope. No one should walk this journey alone. If you're a business, donor, athlete, survivor, or caregiver, we invite you to join us. Together, we can change lives beyond the hospital walls and bring real hope home.
