Together they lead our team of branding specialists, graphic designers, strategists, researchers, and photography and video professionals. Paula Hellyer, Creative Director As the Director of Walsh & Beck, Paula leads our strategic and creative direction. After 25 years of managing campaigns, creating brands, and helping businesses to grow, there is not much that she hasn’t seen: Her portfolio of successful projects tells the story of someone who loves a challenge. From public health campaigns, to helping people understand the importance of communication or flood infrastructure, Paula’s knowledge base touches on a little of everything. Prior to establishing Walsh & Beck she was the marketing and communications manager for award- winning architecture practice Jasmax. Paula is an ‘out of the box thinker’ who applies a fresh filter to all our client work. Alex Lovell-Smith, Director | Photographer & Videographer With an MFA from Otago Polytechnic, Alex is a talented photographer and filmmaker. His ability to connect with people and places allows him to capture distinctive images in any scenario. With a broad client base, Alex’s images are compelling and diverse. An avid traveller Alex shoots for clients around the globe. Current clients include Delta Infrastructure, Aurora Energy, Otago Regional Council and Nom*D.
