About WALX & Nordic Walking UK
WALX was established to bring the European concept of nordic walking to the mass market of the UK. Recognising that nordic walking replicated a cross trainer, we mapped the instructor training to the fitness industry and Government framework to establish a network of fitness walking professionals across the UK. WALX has trained in excess of 5,000 Instructors - Individuals and employees of PCTs and Local Authorities and worked with 200 community projects. By 2020, circa 500,000 people had experienced our fitness walking programmes via the instructor network. In 2014 Nordic Walking UK won the UKActive Flame awards. 2020 sees WALX launch their Franchise concept. At WALX, we are looking for people who are ready to start their own business and make a real step change. In partnership with our franchisees, we believe we can have a huge impact on the health of this nation, changing the way people exercise. By providing innovative walking-based programmes delivered by inspiring Masters, Coaches and Guides, we can mutually ensure our members make a change for life.
