About WaNavi Japan/和なびジャパン
WaNavi Japan is a nonprofit organization comprising professionals of many nationalities living in Japan. We come from diverse backgrounds with expertise in education, business, marketing, research, international cooperation, technology, and law. We are registered as a General Incorporated Association (Ippan-shadan-hōjin) under Japanese law. Through our workshops and navigation services, we provide international residents and their families with critical information and support to live comfortably and confidently in Japan. We host shared-learning and networking events to provide meaningful opportunities for Japanese and international residents to interact and build personal ties. Through translation, consultation and research projects, we also support organizations, businesses and artists in Japan by helping to make their services, information and products more accessible to the international community. The inspiration for our work comes from the events that deeply affected Japan on March 11, 2011 and the dislocation and concern experienced by international residents in Japan. Part of our proceeds goes to support families who have been directly affected by natural disasters. We envision a dynamic society where people understand and appreciate cultural diversity and proactively support one another. We believe that the process of building a society in which all residents live comfortably together coincides with the process of Japanese people rediscovering their own traditions and culture, and thus revitalizing their society.
