Want Boutique owner Pari Davis has always loved to shop. Even as a kid, fashion was her thing. From backyard fashion shows to her first job at her aunt’s boutique (she was 7), she was a fashion lover from the start. That love of style continued into adulthood, when Pari launched her career as a fashion show producer. When the people around her admired her knack for finding funky, stylish clothes, she launched into a successful career as a personal shopper. She went on buying trips in LA with her clients in mind, and then brought the collection into her home. She got so busy that the neighbours started complaining about the traffic, so she decided to open a “real” fashion boutique. And so, in 1998, Want Boutique was born with our first shop on Avenue Road. Pari knows women. She knows what they like and what they want. She knows they want to be comfortable. Distinctive. Beautiful. And they want to be helped – not sold. So she designed Want Boutique as an escape where lifestyle meets fashion. She hires experienced stylists who know their stuff, care about their clients, and have an eye for picking out what flatters women of any age, for any occasion. The store hasn’t moved far from Pari’s personal shopper “roots.” The scale’s a bit bigger, but the idea is the same. She still jets out to LA and New York for buying trips, and she shops with her clients in mind, buying stylish, wearable clothes with fit, fabric, style and value as essentials on her checklist. The collections featured at Want are an extension of Pari’s creative vision and don’t reflect that of any one designer. Want carries pieces from the collections of more than 120 designers, ranging from black tie to denim and everything in between. ”There will always be those have-to-have, standout pieces that not everyone can wear,” Pari says. “But there’s a little fashionista in all of us – so whether you’re looking to fit in or stand out, Want has it all.”
