Wassenaar & Associates was founded in 1992 by Daniel Wassenaar and was trading as Seva Brokers. In 2004 Seva brokers was amalgamated with Wilda Insurance Brokers, who are based in Empangeni. In 2012 Wassenaar & Associates was formed as a sole independent broker, joined by Kevin Marshall in 2020, to which is held in remarkably high standards today. Wassenaar & Associates is a Short-Term insurance brokerage, specialising in Personal and Commercial assets. Wassenaar & Associates prides themselves on the level of service and always attending to the clients needs. Wassenaar & Associates have partnered with selected insurers, in the market, who bring their years of expertise, knowledge and specialised products, to offer the client the best solution to suit the needs. Daniel Wassenaar brings 38 years of experience in the Short-Term insurance industry and Kevin Marshall brings 16 years’ experience. Together, they each bring a level of experience in their fields, making this a dynamic duo. Daniel started his Short-Term career in 1982 with Santam Limited as a Marketer, focusing one new business development. Daniel then moved into the broking sector in 1985, whereby he became a manager at Volkskas Insurance Brokers. Moving through the fields of gaining experience and knowledge, Daniel opened up Seva Brokers in 1992. Kevin started his career in 2004 with Wilda Insurance Brokers, whereby he was employed by Daniel, as a claims negotiator. In 2008, Kevin joined CIA, Commercial and Industrial Acceptances, moving out of the broking field and into the insurance sector of the industry. Working up from a claims consultant to becoming a Broker Consultant. In 2017 Kevin moved back into the broking filed, as the personal lines manager for Indwe Risk Services. In 2020, Kevin joined a partnership with Daniel at Wassenaar & Associates, Bringing the dynamic duo back together.
