WATER & HYGIENE Based in Geneva, WATALUX SA is a spin-off of the Antenna Foundation, which is recognised as a public utility. WATA technology is based on a simple electrolysis process that transforms a salt water solution into sodium hypochlorite. WATA devices enable the local production of the chlorine resources needed to make a village's water safe to drink or to disinfect surfaces, food, wounds in nursing homes and at home. Our mission statement Produce and disseminate innovative technologies to reduce extreme poverty and improve the health of the most vulnerable communities. WATA technology is: Simple because it works with clear water, cooking salt and an energy source Economical, its cost is estimated at CHF 0.06 per litre of active chlorine Resistant, the devices are robust and adapted to field conditions Sustainable because it is adapted to the local demand of households, schools, health centres and communities that can independently produce their chlorine resources locally to meet their needs.
