About WatECS

The University of Waterloo is an excellent institution to host this student chapter given the large number of active research groups in electrochemistry, whose research areas range from battery development and fuel cell modelling to electrochemically active biomaterials. The executive team itself is composed of both Master’s and PhD students from different groups with different research areas, sharing electrochemistry as their field of interest. The team aims to both increase access to electrochemistry knowledge through workshops, and to build a community of scholars by connecting research students to each other, to local start-up companies and industry, and to other universities.
