About Waterside Project Space
Waterside Project Space is an independent gallery in East London, situated at the borders of Hackney and Islington and at the beginning of the ‘gallery mile’. Established in 2008 by curator and artist Pierre d’Alancaisez, Waterside Project Space occupies the niche between the commercial, the institution, and the ‘alternative’. The gallery delivers a programme of six to eight group and solo exhibitions per year, together with educational events, film screenings, performance works and talks. The programme is curated by the director, as well as by invited curators. Waterside Project Space works with UK as well as international artists, and a particular focus has been the practice of artists from Eastern Europe and the Nordic countries. We have been privileged to work with a number of well-respected artists, (including three who had represented their counties at the Venice Biennial) and curators, and have been happy to support the development of younger practices as well. We are particularly proud to have worked with Hrein Fri∂finnsson (Iceland), Stefan Constantinescu (Romania), Anna Ostoya (Poland), Damien Roach (UK), A K Dolven (Norway), Amikam Toren (UK), George Barber (UK), Anita di Bianco (DE/US) and Graham Hudson (UK).
