WAVE Scooters was New Zealand's first e-scooter rideshare company to launch in Australasia. WAVE secured a licence with Auckland Council to operate 1000 e-scooters along side Lime Scooters in Auckland City and the outer suburbs, commencing with 500 scooters in March 2019. WAVE Scooters was also the first e-scooter company to sign the global partnership platform with BIRD Rides Inc. Los Angeles.
