At Waves Music Therapy, we are a passionate and ambitious team of music therapists, spoken word artists and community musicians who believe in the transformative power of music to create positive change. Our work focuses on supporting children, young people, and vulnerable adults to feel heard, express themselves and challenge the barriers they face. By harnessing the creativity and connection that music provides, we aim to offer meaningful opportunities for growth and healing. Operating across the South East, we provide both clinical music therapy interventions and creative music-making projects. These services are tailored to meet the needs of those referred for support and we also proactively identify and respond to areas where there is an unmet need for accessible therapeutic care, ensuring no one is left without the support they require. Waves is a female-led charity guided by a diverse, ambitious, and dedicated Board of Trustees who are deeply rooted in the communities we serve. Our trustees bring extensive professional expertise in areas such as SEND, finance, and corporate partnerships, complemented by valuable lived experiences. This rich diversity ensures our work is impactful, inclusive, and closely aligned with the needs of those we support. Additionally, our youth and family advisory boards play a pivotal role in shaping our programmes, offering vital insights from lived experience to ensure our work remains meaningful and responsive. Through our commitment to inclusivity and innovation, Waves delivers safe, creative spaces for participants to build confidence, enhance communication, and foster meaningful connections. Our work is underpinned by a shared mission to make therapeutic care accessible to all, ensuring that music can be a source of empowerment and transformation for those who need it most.
