About WavyWMN

Founded in January 2020, WavyWMN is the largest community of Black Women wavers in the world. To wave the hair is to brush the natural curl of the hair flat, achieving a “wave-like” pattern. Our mission is, “To celebrate and educate Black Women wavers, and the world around us. Shifting the conversations and narratives around the beauty of Natural Hair.” Since our launch, our message has traveled from The Caribbean to Johannesburg, Osaka, and everywhere in between. With a lifetime engagement of over two million across our social channels. Featuring a global audience of Black women from right here in the U.S. to over 20 different countries across the world. Intentionally creating communities to allow for these conversations and activities to take place. Especially in the heavy male-dominated community of wavers. Creating and innovating original content in mind for the everyday Black women. Starting off with our #WavieTalks podcast. Highlighting Black women wavers, Barbers, Hairstylists, and businesses within the Black Hair Industry. Talking about anything and everything they want. Especially waves! We also have our #Detangled series, serving to uncover hair myths, rumors, and update on the latest hair care news. WavyWMN is here to fill that void. We are dedicated to showcasing Wavies no matter what stage they’re in. Staying true to our motto, “If hair is the canvas, waves are just the paint.”
