Wealth Beacon Group Foundation Inc. is a nonprofit organization based in New Haven, CT, committed to transforming lives by guiding families from homelessness to homeownership. Through affordable housing and holistic support, we help individuals and families achieve long-term stability, financial independence, and brighter futures. At WBG, we believe housing is more than just a roof over your head — it’s a foundation for dignity, growth, and opportunity. That’s why we pair safe, stable housing with wrap-around services, including financial literacy (via our SHINE Academy), wellness support, job readiness, and child care partnerships. By addressing the root causes of poverty and housing insecurity, we empower families to build wealth and break generational cycles. Founded by Amir and Yvette Glenn — both longtime New Haven residents and Yale University employees — WBG emerged from a deep understanding of the city’s challenges and a bold vision for systemic change. We’ve already helped families transition from shelters into permanent homes, and we’re scaling that impact across Connecticut. Our long-term vision: 🏡 Own and operate 60+ units of housing by 2029 📈 Become financially self-sustaining through rental income 🤝 Build strong partnerships with mental health providers, schools, and employers 🌍 Expand beyond Connecticut to cities like Detroit and Baltimore We’re not just building homes.
