About Wealth Management Student Organization
The Wealth Management Student Organization (WMSO) is a student-led club at the University of Texas at Austin affiliated with the McCombs School of Business. Our mission is focused on cultivating the next generation of wealth managers by providing in-depth teachings on personal finance and connecting students with wealth management firms. We support the growth, development, and career networking of students interested in this industry, and encourage members to empower themselves, and others, to take control of their finances and lead fulfilling lives. WMSO was established in 2019 as a response to a lack of financial literacy opportunities at UT Austin. Since then, we have brought together like-minded individuals who are passionate about the personal side of business. We work to equip our members with skills and knowledge that transcends course curriculum with company nights, case studies, workshops, and other professional events. Additionally, our social events promote a welcoming, friendly environment that is open to anyone who is interested - personal finance should never be an isolated topic, so everyone is welcome! "Spread the wealth" is a slogan we live by, and we do our part to not only prepare students for a career in wealth management, but also teach valuable skills that can be put to use after college. Our overarching goal is to tackle the lack of personal finance education offered to the greater population.
