About Weather Water Sand Srl

Weather Water Sand is an innovative start-up company founded in 2021 as a Spin Off from the Department of Civil, Chemical and Environmental Engineering of the University of Genova by a group of professionals with several years of environmental modelling experience in academia and industry. WWS was winner of the first prize in SMARTcup Liguria 2021 industrial category and of the STARTcup 2021 of the University of Genova. The company consists of five partners, including two professors from the University of Genova and the environmental modelling company PM-Ten (http://www.pm10-ambiente.com). WWS has strong scientific relationships with universities and research centers, university spin offs, public authorities and several industrial companies. Our company provides an innovative set of numerical models and tools which allow hindcast and forecast of the entire spectrum of natural flows such as winds, coastal currents, rivers and submarine gravity flows with applications to: - Accurate weather predictions for the renewable energy industry - Risk assessment of submarine geo-hazards and - Modelling of geological deposits of oil and gas reservoirs and for the sequestration of CO2
