Wessex Watches is my brainchild, I'm Jamie Boyd a long time 'real' watch enthusiast and, funds permitting, collector. I live in the beautiful and historic county of Wiltshire on the edge of the North Wessex Downs, not far from the picture in the background in fact. I don't want to bore you with long winded explanations of why I started Wessex Watches, but if you do get bored reading this, just click on 'WATCH SHOP' and buy one of the fantastic watches I've designed! :-) It all started in 2015, I wanted a quality, engraved dial, mechanical watch with a reasonable price and made in the UK. Right, that's why I created Wessex Watches, quite simply because what I wanted did not exist! I do hope that didn't bore you! Seriously though, unless your budget was BIG, an engraved dial watch for most people was not a reality, until now. The aim of Wessex watches is to make the ownership of a high quality, engraved dial, mechanical timepiece a reality for people who don't have £5k ++ to spend on what is, when all's said and done, a luxury. To keep our prices reasonable we have to keep our costs as low as we can, so all of our watches are designed by us, contain a hand crafted dial built by us and are assembled, finished, regulated and tested by us at our workshop in Wiltshire. All watches are built to order, so we don't carry expensive stocks of finished watches and, finally, we only sell direct to the customer so there are no distributor and re-seller costs to cover. We created and maintain this website ourselves and we do all our own product photography, thankfully we are better at making watches than we are at photographing them (sorry Jordan, you do far better than I could). One thing we will not compromise is the quality of our watches and we back this up with a 2 or 4 year warranty depending on the movement you choose.
