About West Slope Foundation
The West Slope Foundation (WSF) was developed in the aftermath of the Caldor Fire by community members. Our primary mission of the organization was to provide immediate and long-term assistance to survivors of the Caldor Fire and to support efforts to create a more resilient El Dorado County. The WSF is a community-based organization that was set up in September 2021 to provide relief to Caldor Fire survivors, primarily in Grizzly Flats, a community that lost 600 + homes to this fire which burned more than 221,000 acres in El Dorado County. The WSF provided immediate relief (food, clothing, check cards) and many other resources to this community and continues to be the lifeline by identifying immediate unmet needs and are the “boots on the ground” providing resources.
