Welcome to the Western Engineering Competition 2026 LinkedIn Page. The annual competition will be held in January of 2026, in Edmonton, at the University of Alberta. The Western Engineering Competition (WEC), established back in 1985, is Western Canada’s premier engineering student event. It showcases the ingenuity, technical skills, and creativity of the region’s brightest future engineers. Since its inception, WEC has seen over 200 competitors from all Engineering Disciplines each year from 11 + Western engineering accredited institutions. Participation in WEC is highly competitive! Students must first excel in their respective university qualifying competitions, demonstrating superior intuition, teamwork, and innovation. Only the top team from each institute will advance to WEC, making it a gathering of the best and brightest engineering talent within Western Canada
