About Western Surgical and Sedation

Western Surgical and Sedation was founded in 2011 by Dr. John Wayland and Dr. Justin Wu to provide oral surgery training and education for general dentists. Dr. Wayland and Dr. Wu realized that there is a huge demand for continuing education in oral surgery. Most dentists receive minimal oral surgical training in dental school. All challenging procedures are referred to AEGD, GPR, and Oral Surgery residents. Many dentists practice for years and are not comfortable with surgical procedures. WSS makes learning easy and fun in 3 ways: 1. Hands on courses in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Mexico, San Jose, CA and Portland, OR. 2. Lecture/participation courses throughout the United States and Canada taught by experienced dentists. 3. One-On-One Training in your office. WSS is committed to helping the underserved communities around the world. Mission trips are available in Uganda, Costa Rica, Phillipines, Nicaragua and Mexico. See Outreach Dental Missions for more.
