About Wezesha Women And Youth Initiative (WWAYI)
Wezesha Women And Youth Initiative (WWAYI) is a nonprofit organization in Kenya dedicated to supporting, empowering, and advocating for women and youth. Traditionally, women and girls in our communities face numerous barriers that limit their opportunities. At WWAYI, we aim to proactively and effectively address these challenges by dismantling these barriers through education, and essential resources, and fostering mental and reproductive health support. With a strong dedication to advocating for gender inclusivity, our initiatives are driven by the urgent need to promote sustainable development and empowerment for women, especially young women, and youth through our programs: Educational Support: We help underage mothers resume education after pregnancy by providing academic opportunities, financial aid, and childcare. Reproductive & Mental Health: Through school programs, we offer comprehensive reproductive health education and mental health resources, empowering youth to make informed decisions about their well-being. Period Poverty Alleviation: We distribute hygiene products like sanitary towels, underwear, and toiletries to girls in need, allowing them to manage menstruation with dignity and stay in school. Kemizola Program: This program offers financial assistance for funeral expenses and therapy to families dealing with pregnancy and infant loss. EmpowerHer Global supports immigrant women with resources as they navigate the challenges of relocating. The Tech Mtaani" program aims to bridge the digital divide by providing digital literacy and internet access to vulnerable communities. At the heart of all these programs is our vision: a future where women and youth are empowered to realize their full potential, and where every person has an equal chance to thrive. We believe in creating equitable opportunities, addressing the challenges women and youth face, and fostering sustainable development through education, health, and advocacy.
